Himalayan Life

Title – Himalayan life

Pristine drops of purity ,
a place of peace ,
a flow of freedom ,
crystalline clarity of water ,
Ganga is a river of enchantment
since ancient ages .

Dear to deer and sages ,
dear to dreamers and sculptors ,
dear to poets and writers ,
are the river Ganga and the holy Himalayas .

Somewhere in the Himalayan foothills ,
rests a hamlet of humility ,
a hamlet , which is content
with a routine of early rising ,
farm work , walking long miles ,
singing a Garhwali song ,
comforted by the warmth of serene shawls ,
creating carved wax candles of pastel hues ,
candles ,which are ready to melt
inspite of their ethereal shapes and designs .

Himalayas host humanity ,
Himalayas honour horticulture ,
Himalayas are the hyms of Asia .

An Armour Of Courage

Title – An armour of courage
Name – Rupali Gore Lale

After being bound by shackles of low self worth ,
the lady was saturated with negativity .
Somewhere , the self respect within her retaliated .

The woman set herself free and ran in glee ,
she explored new lands and new horizons ,
she wore wings of wishes an armour of courage,
took flight in a world of opportunities ,
the mademoiselle mustered perseverance ,
she took the stance of confidence .
She failed at times , even faced her fears .

With a leonine bravery , the queen of her life
took charge and won the war of success
in the eventful world…

O Red bird, o my Santa bird

Title – O Red bird , O my Santa bird

O Red bird , O Red bird ,
Please fly to safer skies
And bring some blessings for us ,
An invisible virus has brought a lockdown ,

O my Santa bird , O my Santa bird ,
You are dressed in red , just like Santa Claus ,
Please be our Santa Claus and
fetch some gifts for us ,
but this time , please gift us
better immunity , strength
and remedy from the Covid virus ….
So that we can resume our routine ,
Out of our home’s radius ….

O Red bird , O my Santa bird ,
Please fly to safer skies
and bring some blessings for us ….

My daughter Ira’s drawing of a red bird inspired me to write this poem . In fact , she asked me to write a poem for her drawing .

Books – an acrostic poem

Today is the ‘ World book day ‘ . On the occasion of this beautiful day , an acrostic poem written by me .

Title – Books

Words are magically woven into stories , essays , poems and much more ,

Occasionally , there are ruthless words , often inspiring words ,

Reading can take a reader in an era , a past or even in future ,

Like a time machine , how adventurous are the sci-fi s , fantasies and fairytales !

Daring and inspiring readers to do something worthwhile with their life .

Bringing hidden talents of the knowledge seeker to the surface ,

Offering different outlooks and opinions , about many topics ,

Oratory skills are developed during book reading ,

Kindling an aim to explore .

Dreams and diaries ,

Analyzing varied situations ,

Yearning to learn and read more and more.

Without readers , books and writers cannot grow , in terms of creativity .

So , even if you are someone thinking of gravity , intensity , brevity or eternity , continue to support books , love and read books – anywhere you get a chance to read – in a bus or by brooks !

Happy World Book Day !

Books – an acrostic poem

Falooda

Food is a necessity , but certain foods do not take time to be a temptation , an indulgence . Desserts are a great extension of a meal . They represent a human need to make space for luxury and not feel guilty about it ! To beat the Tropical heat – kulfi , gulkand , rabdi , Basundi and Falooda are great options . Falooda is my personal favourite . I follow the recipe of my mother , for making Falooda at home . Falooda is a beautiful layered drink . Layers of soaked Sabja seeds , soaked vermicelli , milk , rose syrup and Vanilla ice-cream , in a long glass ! A visual , sensory delight ! The red rose syrup , when blended with white milk and vanilla ice-cream , gradually turns a pleasant baby pink ! A culinary composition awaiting to be eaten … Eating each spoon is a divine bliss !Instead of vanilla ice-cream , malai kulfi also can be used . Falooda is an Indian dessert . It traces its origins to Iran . In Persian culture , this dish is called ‘ Faloodeh ‘ .

My Elfchen for Pink , inspired by Falooda. Hues. sweet , soft spreading rosy vibes enhancing a Falooda glass Pink
